Obituary for Ascenzia G. Milazzo

Ascenzia (“Shen”) G. Milazzo, of Oakwood, a former employee of the New York Telephone Company, died July 3 at Staten Island University Hospital. She was 90.
Born Ascenzia Labargo on August 21, 1929 in Staten Island to Rosaria Recchia Labargo and Gaetano Labargo, Shen worked as an operator for the New York Telephone Company until her retirement in 1984. She was preceded in death by her husband, Frank P. Milazzo, whom she married on June 8, 1958.
Shen was a long time-parishioner of St. Charles R.C. Church in Oakwood. In her leisure time, Shen gave generously of her time and resources and enjoyed volunteering, crocheting and spending time with friends and family.
In addition to her husband, Shen was predeceased by her sister, Carmela Cavallo, and brother Aneo Labargo. She is survived by her niece, MaryEllen Willman (Timothy), her nephews Kevin Cavallo (Lois) and Stephen Labargo (Laura), and five grandnieces and grandnephews, Marisa Willman, Timothy R. Willman, Stephanie Labargo, Stephen Labargo and Matthew Cavallo.
Donations in Shen’s memory may be made to St. Charles Church, 644 Clawson Street, Staten Island, NY 10306.

Shen was so generous with her crocheting. Just look at her refrigerator door. There are so many pictures of all the children who received her beautiful baby blankets. She so enjoyed looking at all those pictures each day. Rest In Peace dear friend. Bernice Fisher
