Carol Joan Emigholz Nolan, age 85, of Staten Island passed away January 12, 2020, at Staten Island University Hospital. Carol was born in 1935 in Brooklyn, New York where she later graduated Fort Hamilton High School in 1952. She spent her summers and years after HS working as a waitress in Hunter New York where she met her beloved Husband and best friend, Thomas Nolan. Together they settled in Oakwood Heights Staten Island. Carol was an active member of Oakwood Heights community church, and a secretary for the churches nursery school for over 20 years. She was a devoted wife, loving mother, a hard worker, loyal friend and a hands on grandmother. She had a vivacious personality; She was a strong, fierce and determined woman but she was also the kindest, warmest soul with a generous heart. Her interests included crocheting, playing mahjong, and always winning at card games. Her loving and playful personality brightened every room she entered. Her favorite pastime became engaging in witty banter with her grandchildren. They were her most precious jewels. The love she had for her family was Â force all could feel and will never be forgotten. Carol is survived by her husband Thomas Nolan of 64 years; 3 children and their spouses, Christine and Marc Teichman, Thomas and Heidi Nolan, William and Christine Romano Nolan; and 7 grandchildren, Kristen Nolan, Thomas and his wife Austin Nolan, Brianne Nolan, Christine Teichman, Michael Teichman, Alicia Nolan and Sean Teichman. Arrangements are with Colonial Funeral Home Staten Island NY on Friday January 15, 2020 from 10:30am -12:00. Burial immediately following at Resurrection Cemetery, Staten Island, NY.
