Obituary for Joseph B. Davis Sr.

Joseph B. Davis Sr. aka Joe D 13, 68, of New Dorp, passed away September 18, 2020, due to complications from surgery . He was born October 25, 1951 to parents Bernard and Rosanna Davis in Brooklyn, NY. He married Bernice in 2007. Joseph is survived by his wife Bernice, children Joseph Davis Jr., Janet Gonzalez and Alexis Schaen, step children Jennifer Gosling, William Gosling and Ronald Ross, son in law Manuel Gonzalez, grandchildren Richard, Branden, Jayden, Jonathan, Mateo and Arabella, Stepmother Carol Davis and siblings Patrica, Kenny Sr., Bernard Jr. and Kerryann. Joseph was a proud veteran of the Army branch where he served from 1971-1973. He worked in Staten Island University Hospital South and was a union delegate for 21 years. He also enjoyed working part time at the NYCHA senior buildings. Joseph enjoyed bowling, darts and playing softball. Anyone that knew him knew he was a die hard Mets and Cowboy fan and loved his Pepsi. Since his retirement he has enjoyed going on long walks and spending extra time with his grandchildren. Joseph would always have his grandkids over and would drop everything to be there for them. They all had him wrapped around their fingers. He always had a smile on his face and would always try to make other peoples day.
