Obituary

Obituary for Mildred Cappiello

Mildred Cappiello was born on June 4, 1925 to Rachel & Robert Puglise. She was best known to her friends and family as Millie. Millie was born and raised in Brooklyn, NY with her late older brother Phillip, late baby brother John and her younger sister Santa. She went to school to become a dressmaker.

She dated Joseph Cappiello before he shipped off to the Marines. When he returned, he cut into a dance that she was having while at a wedding and asked her to marry him. She had a wonderful marriage that others looked up to. After her three children, John, Diana and Robert were married, Millie & Joseph moved to Staten Island and enjoyed traveling to Sarasota, FL. They also loved taking all of their grandchildren to Pennsylvania every year. She was very crafty and loved crocheting blankets, making ornaments and magnets, and did so until her passing.

Millie was a sweet, caring and loving woman. She was calm, listened and never raised her voice. She had an excellent memory and the advice and suggestions that she gave always seemed to be right on.

She enjoyed going to the casino with her family and was usually the lucky one! Millie was a devout Catholic and loved the church. She prayed for her children, her grandchildren and her great-grandchildren everyday. Family was everything to Millie.

After the passing of her husband of 59 years, Millie soon moved to Middletown, Delaware with her daughter & son-in-law.

She is now joined with her late husband Joseph Cappiello and her late son and daughter-in-law, John & Patricia Cappiello. She is survived by her daughter & son-in-law, Diana & Butch McCumiskey, her son and daughter-in-law, Robert & Michelle Cappiello.

She had 7 grandchildren (Michael & Jacque McCumiskey, Marissa & Steve Cappola, Michelle & Ken LePosa, Laura & Damon Kost, Brandon & Dana Cappiello, Jennifer McCumiskey and Keith & Kim Cappiello) and 13 great grandchildren (John, Isabella, Steven, Michael, Chloe, Giovanni, Julia, Connor, Brayden, Vincent, MacKensie, Nicholas & Patti Ann).
