Obituary

Obituary for Neil Rick

Neil M. Rick, 70, passed away Thursday, January 16, 2020 at home surrounded by family after battling cancer for two years.
Neil was born January 11, 1950 in Brooklyn, New York. He graduated from Erasmus High School and Brooklyn College. He and his first wife, Rosemary, moved to Staten Island in 1984 where they raised their family. Neil was a well-respected and successful small business owner in the Wireless Communications industry. He started out as a salesman for Motorola, Inc., and in 1989, he opened his own business, LRS Communications, Inc. He retired to Del Mar, California in 2013.
Neil was a proud New Yorker and lifelong Yankees fan. He loved listening to music, attending sporting events, and traveling. He also enjoyed hiking with his wife, Sherri, and spoiling their two beloved rescue dogs, Leo and Elaine. More than anything, Neil loved his family. He was always there for everyone and never asked for anything in return. He was an adventurous yet easy going man who will be remembered for his generosity, loyalty, positive attitude, and appreciation for life.
In addition to his wife, Neil is survived by his three children, Michael, Daniel and his wife Christina, and Lauren; three step-sons, Dylan, Brennan, and Jacob; two brothers, Lawrence and Freddie; his sister, Judi; two nieces and five nephews.
A memorial for Neil will be held on Sunday, January 26, 2020, at Colonial Funeral Home, 2819 Hylan Blvd., Staten Island, NY 10306, from 12-3pm with a service immediately following. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Neil's memory to Helen Woodward Animal Center or the American Cancer Society.
